Autorenporträt
Professor für Zoologie und Kurator für Herpetologie am Leibniz-Institut zur Erforschung des Wandels der Biodiversität. Er interessierte sich schon früh für die Herpetologie und hatte das Glück, das Thema in seiner beruflichen Laufbahn weiter verfolgen zu können. Er studierte an der Universität Tübingen und der University of California Berkeley und promovierte an der Universität Tübingen. Hauptsächlich als Morphologe ausgebildet. Beginnend 2001 war er fasziniert vom Regenwald und den Fröschen auf der Insel Borneo und verfolgt dort seither Themen der Biodiversitätsforschung. Zu seinen wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten gehören zahlreiche internationale Zeitschriftenartikel. Haas führte Feldforschungen in Argentinien, Australien, europäischen Ländern, Indonesien, Malaysia und den USA durch.
