These reforms were aimed in achieving the goals of the prison as an institution for reforms and rehabilitation of the inmates.

The author, Mal.Muhammadu Buhari, was a student of History at Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria. He obtained his B.A and M.A History from the above mentioned university. He is a member Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN).
