The story revolves around the life of a wealthy Parisian woman named Madame Delorge, who has been widowed for many years. Despite her wealth and social status, Madame Delorge is deeply unhappy and longs for true love and companionship. One day, she meets a young artist named Raoul de Lagors, who she believes could be the answer to her prayers. Raoul is handsome, charming, and talented, and Madame Delorge quickly becomes infatuated with him. However, Raoul is not interested in a serious relationship and is only using Madame Delorge for her money. As the story unfolds, Madame Delorge's obsession with Raoul becomes increasingly dangerous and destructive. She becomes willing to do anything to keep him by her side, even if it means betraying her own principles and morals. Meanwhile, Raoul's true intentions are revealed, and Madame Delorge is forced to confront the reality of her situation.A Last Love is a powerful and emotional novel that explores themes of love, obsession, and the dangers of unchecked desire. It is a cautionary tale about the perils of allowing one's heart to rule over one's head, and the consequences that can arise from making rash decisions based on emotion alone. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Autorenporträt
Georges Ohnet was born in Paris. Ohnet liked Georges Sand's work and didn't like realistic current books. He started writing a series of books called Les Batailles de la vie about a simple and idealistic character. The reviewers thought they were unrealistic and boring, but the books were a big hit. Serge Panine (1881), which won an award from the academy, Le Maitre de forges (1882), La Grande Marni re (1885), Volont (1888), and Dernier Amour (1891) were all in this series. A lot of his books have been turned into plays that were big hits. For example, Le Maitre de forges were put on at the Gymnase in 1883 and ran for a whole year. Le Cr puscule (1902), Le Marchand de Poison (1903), La Conqu rante (1905), La dixi me muse (1906), La Route Rouge (1908), and La Serre de l'Aigle (1912) are some of his later works. Journal of a Bourgeois of Paris During the War of 1914 was his last book.
