Amanda's first experience with reading romance novels was in her early teens and she has continued to read them throughout her life. Now, she has the time to explore her passion for writing narratives involving realistic romantic situations. Amanda portrays her female protagonists in the same light as herself: as independent, feisty, assertive and passionate. Her books are written from a feminist perspective. The central characters are strong, articulate, independent, have a sense of purpose and are financially secure. They have a successful career and a fulfilling life. However, this is not to be outdone by her male protagonists. There is never a question about their masculinity, strength, sexuality, or desire. They may have hard edges, but also soft curves.
