Sonoma is a gorgeous, diverse destination, with near perfect weather and hundreds of unique wineries to delight the eyes and thrill every palate, whether they belong to a novice or a collector. This book is like having good friends in Wine Country, because the key to truly enjoying Sonoma's remarkable wineries is having an insider's ideas about where to go. Who better to share that than two winery tour guides, who have consistently wowed their clients with their itineraries, based on their many years of hearing about what clients enjoyed most? But, creating your own best 'wish list' can be tricky and that's where this book shines. It explains how to plan the daytrips and how to travel these country roads safely. This book answers more questions about the Sonoma Wine Country than most people can imagine asking. The first half of the book tells the reader everything they need to know to feel comfortable and confident wine touring, including how to get there, where to stay, how to dress, what to expect in a tasting room, how to taste the wines to best capture their true nature and more. The second half is the directory of 260 wineries that can be easily visited, with the authors personal descriptions and insights. Next, there is a bonus chapter about visiting Wine Country with children for those exceptional times, and two more chapters from the upcoming travel book, 'Wine Country in Shorts', to round out the story. Finally, the book features easy-to-read tour maps, keyed to the directory, to help visitors easily navigate between hotels, wineries and restaurants. This is the ultimate insider's guide from a couple who have been to hundreds of wineries with clients, that will help visitors plan their time in Sonoma for a day or a month, and then guide them while they are there!
Drs. Ralph & Lahni DeAmicis both began practicing Astrology professionally in the 1970's, and they expect to get the hang of this stargazing thing pretty soon. They met in the Physics lab at Princeton University at the first presentation of the Project Hindsight research in 1994. This also introduced them to the wonderful circle of Astrologers connected with the Princeton Astrological Society and the National Council for Geocosmic Research (NCGR) in New York City. These events had a profound influence on their future professional work They became the Astrologers for the Planetary Calendar in 2002, when Lahni's daughter, Carole, purchased the project after the passing of the founder. Since they had written Astrology columns for magazines, they convinced Carole to let them include a forecast. But she insisted that rather than a Sun Sign column, it be a 'global' forecast that looked at the influence of the ongoing Transits, which turned out to be even more helpful and it's continued that way ever since. All Astrologers bring their personal interests to the field, and for them it was natural healing and environmental design. As Master Herbalists and Naturopathic Physicians they wrote 'The 10 Minute Herbalist' book series. They are also well-known speakers and consultants on Feng Shui and Ergonomic Design, creating their 'Feng Shui and the Tango' trilogy and other books on Ergo Dynamics. This expertise shows up in the Calendar's healing system, Twelve Terrestrial Houses and Health Hints. In 2005 their 'little tribe' relocated from Philadelphia to Sonoma and Napa California, the gorgeous, sunny wine country at the north end of the San Francisco Bay. The initial reason was for a book project about the winery architecture for their design series. That project morphed into a tour book that has become its own series. After speaking internationally for many years on their various topics, the two felt very much at home and did not want to leave. But there was still a demand for their presentations, so they began producing television programs at Napa Valley Television. Segments of their shows, 'Planetary Calendar TV', and 'Astrologers Chatting Over Wine', make up a big part of the online resources provided for Calendar users. They spend their time improving the Calendar, writing books and producing TV shows, all of which can be found at www.SpaceAndTime.com.
