Charles R. Smith Jr. is an award-winning children's book author, photographer, and poet. Born and raised in Southern California, Charles spent many Saturdays with his father in the barbershop. As an adult, Charles decided to cut off all his hair and go bald. Though he enjoys not having to get his hair cut, he misses the discussions and laughter in the barbershop, and he hopes this book captures that same spirit.
