ABC Apple Pie is a book for elementary school children about the tale of an apple pie and how some town folks relate to it in various ways when wanting to taste it. Based on an 18th Century Rhyme with which kids can learn the alphabet and the use of some verbs in the past tense while reading, additionally, kids have the chance to learn Spanish. The Apple Pie ABC is an 18th Century children rhyme was meant to teach children the order of the alphabet. According to The Oxford Dictionary of Nursery Rhymes (Oxford and New York, 2nd edition), pp. 53-4 by Peter & Iona Opie (1997). The earliest mention of the rhyme was in religious work in 1671 only using the letter A to G. The first printed version of the rhyme was in "Child's new plaything" in London 1742 and Boston 1750, this book was intended to make the learning process fun. After that, in London 1747 and Boston 1764, appear in "Tom Thumb's Playbook" for the early learning purpose. The more famous publication was A Apple Pie by Kate Greenaway in London 1886, which due to her wonderful illustration get to captivate a big public nationally and internationally. Up today have being reprinted many times in the U.S. At the 18th century the writing of the capital letters I and J, and of U and V, was not differentiated, which explains the absence of the two vowels in the early versions. Later versions added I and U with, "I inspected it" and "U upset it".

Maria Aduke Alabi nació el 22 de agosto de 1977 en Santo Domingo, República Dominicana. Es contadora, diseñadora gráfica, poeta, escritora, folklorista y fotógrafa artística. Propietaria de la empresa Rentaino srl (www.rentaino.com ) y Quisqueyana Press (www.quisqueyanapress.com ). La autora emigro a San Diego California desde los 29 años, donde vive con su esposo y seis hijos. Desde ese entonces y a razón de la distancia, la añoranza a su pueblo y todo lo que su país representa creció a tal punto que su enfoque se radico por muchos años en el estudio de la cultura, folklore y costumbres dominicanas. La mayor parte de su trabajo, algunos publicados y otros en preparación, van desde poesía, espiritual, compilaciones folkloricas, investigaciones y estudios relacionados con la cultura y el pueblo dominicano. Ganadora en varios concursos literarios: En 1993, concurso de talento literario organizado por la Arquidiócesis de Santo Domingo. En 1994, concurso nacional de poesía para madres organizado por la Biblioteca Nacional Dominicana. Además de ser finalista en 2011 en varios concursos: "VIII Concurso anual de cuento breve y poesía de la Librería Mediática", Venezuela; el concurso internacional "Inspiración Otoñal" y "Palabras entre el Centeno" organizado por el Centro de Estudios Poéticos 2011 y 2012, España y el Concurso Internacional de Poesía "Soy Mujer" organizado por Mujeres Poetas Internacional en República Dominicana. Miembro de la mesa directiva de "San Diego Innovative Preschool Project" (SDIPP), "Chancellor William McGill School of Success" donde también es tesorera; además de "Sola Olagunju Foundation" (SOF) en Nigeria; todas organizaciones sin fines de lucro. Miembro de "Alliance of Independent Authors". Independientemente de su vida profesional y la escritura, encontró una nueva pasión al capturar imágenes en fotografías por lo que tiene un sitio web www.Juzt2Imprez.com como un medio para hacer comercial su fotografía artística y arte gráfico. La Autora expresa: "Al escribir poesía dirijo mis sentimientos artísticos desde adentro hacia afuera; La fotografía hace lo contrario, me ayuda atraer el arte de afuera hacia adentro". El lema personal de la autora es "Conócete a ti mismo y a todo aquello que representas" para ella el antiguo aforismo griego "Gnothi seauton" (Conócete a ti mismo) es una de las frases más profundas y de mayor sentido en el desarrollo espiritual y físico del ser humano. El conocimiento de todo aquello que representamos involucra el conocimiento de tus raíces, tu cultura, tus antepasados, tu historia y todo aquello que hace a una persona lo que es. En la escritora radica un gran interés por salvaguardar los tesoros culturales de su tierra natal, movido por la especial apreciación a sus tradiciones, pero también por temor de que esas tradiciones desaparezcan o se queden estancadas como algo del pasado, sin sobrevivir al modernismo, con el cual compite con grandes desventajas.
