Acral lentiginous melanoma is a rare subtype of cutaneous melanoma that usually has an unfavourable and aggressive course. Acral lentiginous melanoma is a rare subtype of cutaneous melanoma that usually has an unfavourable and aggressive course. The author holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Valparaíso, Chile. He completed his residency in Dermatology, specialisation in Dermatopathology, and PhD in Dermatology at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. He is currently pursuing an International Fellowship in Dermatopathology at Harvard University, United States.
