The book of the Acts of the Apostles, also commonly known as the book of Acts, was written by the physician and evangelist Luke, after he had written the Gospel of Luke. It is a historical narrative that tells the story of the movement of the Holy Spirit in the birth of the Christian church and the growth of Christianity throughout the Roman Empire. This fully annotated, line by line study begins with Luke's introductory letter to Theophilus, progresses through the the early days of the church in Jerusalem, culminating with the stoning of Paul.
