The phenomenon of adsorption and its applications has been one of the main subjects of research for the scientists all over the world. Adsorption is found to be present in many systems like natural, physical, biological and chemical systems. It has wide industrial applications and also is used in pharmaceutical industries. In this book, adsorption process, such as Batch and Column adsorption has been discussed. Various factors, such as pH, temperature, contact time, initial concentration, pressure, and adsorbent loading affecting both the batch and column adsorption were also reported in this project. Adsorption isotherms, kinetics and mechanism were described. The application of adsorption process in purifying water and wastewater has also highlighted. New attempts to obtain a more easy, low-cost water treatment methods via adsorption are coming up in the upcoming years. This is of immense necessity not only for health and hygiene but also to facilitate longer life of the living beings especially in this ongoing pandemic.
