This unique textbook introduces advanced features and techniques of programming and simulation in MATLAB and provides insight into their practical applications across the STEM disciplines, particularly in engineering. It bridges the gap between theory and implementation through thorough explanations and easy-to-follow, meaningful examples, allowing students to quickly solve a multitude of engineering problems from basic courses to advanced state-of-the art topics, such as deep learning and robotics. Written by engineering-faculty authors certified in MATLAB programming for over 20 years, using it in all his teaching and research activities, and standing as one of the only books that teaches readers how to transform the problem space into working MATLAB implementations, Advanced MATLAB for Engineers: Integrating Theory and Programming is ideal for graduate and upper-level undergraduate students and practitioners new to MATLAB.
Autorenporträt
Dr. Mehran Andalibi is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering  at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. With over 17 years of experience  in higher education, he has taught a wide range of engineering and software  courses, including MATLAB programming. A certified MATLAB MCMA  professional, Dr. Andalibi has been using MATLAB for over 20 years in  diverse research areas, such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and  Engineering Education. His motivation for writing this book stems from a desire to distill his extensive knowledge of MATLAB, including its latest tools, into a comprehensive and accessible textbook. Designed with engineering students in mind, the book features numerous real-world examples that can support their learning throughout their academic journey. Sam Cherkauer is an Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University alumni who graduated in May 2025 with a  major in Aerospace Engineering and a minor in Robotics. During his time at Embry-Riddle, Sam became proficient at programming in MATLAB, Python, and C, and was motivated to write this book to further his knowledge in advanced programming. Following graduation, Sam plans on returning to work in the aerospace industry and potentially pursuing a graduate degree. Writing this book was a great educational experience and will hopefully help future engineering undergraduates.
