This book addresses the increasing need for advanced control strategies in Distributed Generation (DG) systems by leveraging the capabilities of Z-source inverters (ZSIs) and quasi-Z-source inverters (qZSIs)-innovative topologies within the Impedance Source Inverter (ISI) family. The study is structured around four main objectives:Comparative Performance Analysis: Through detailed simulations, a comparison of ZSI and qZSI topologies with switched-inductor networks is conducted. The focus is on evaluating voltage boosting capabilities, voltage gain, and component count to identify the most efficient configuration.Review of Modulation Techniques: A comprehensive literature review investigates current modulation methods employed in ZSI/qZSI systems, providing a foundation for identifying performance bottlenecks and opportunities for innovation.Development of 3D Space Vector Modulation (3DZSVM): A novel 3D space vector modulation technique tailored for four-leg qZSI (4L-qZSI) inverters is proposed. This modulation enhances steady-state performance and minimizes harmonic distortion in unbalanced or nonlinear loads.Simplified Predictive Direct Power Control (PDPC).
