Dr. Parthvi Ravat is a neurologist from India and currently pursuing her Fellowship in Epilepsy at Flinders Medical Center, Australia, with prior experience as Assistant Professor of Neurology at Seth GSMC and King Edward Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, India. She has contributed to clinical research in epilepsy, autoimmune encephalitis, and movement disorders, and has published in Epilepsia Open, Epileptic Disorders, and Movement Disorders. Beyond clinical work, she founded WIN EPILEPSY, an iOS and Android health app supporting epilepsy patients in India. Within the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), she serves as the Vice Chair of the Young Epilepsy Section (YES) and as Communications & Publications Task Force Leader of the ILAE Neurotechnology Section. She is also a podcast reporter for Sharp Waves, the official podcast of ILAE. Outside work, one will find her spending time with the family, enjoying equity market analysis or at the gym. Jorge C Kattah, M.D., Professor and Head of Neurology at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria. He obtained an M.D. degree from El Colegio mayor de Nuestra Señora Del Rosario, Bogotá, Colombia, followed by a residency in Neurology at Georgetown University and a fellowship in Neuroophthalmology at the Eye and Ear Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was a faculty member at Georgetown University for 20 years and moved to the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria to initiate a new Neurology residency. He has been Professor and Head for 27 years. His research interest over the last 50 years includes Neuroophthalmology, Eye Movements, Vestibular and Cerebellar function, The acute vestibular syndrome in peripheral and central lesions, Wernicke’s Encephalopathy and paraneoplastic syndromes. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers. He received the 2009 Stroke Innovation Award, from the Editors of Stroke Second Prize, and the Gold Medal from La Fundacion Iberoamericana de Neurotologia in 2018. In 2024, he completed a 50th year membership of the American Academy of Neurology. Aasef G. Shaikh, MD, PhD, is Professor of Neurology at Case Western Reserve University and holds the Penni and Stephen Weinberg Chair in Brain Health. He serves as Vice-Chair for Research in the Department of Neurology and Associate Medical Director at the Cleveland Functional Electrical Stimulation Center. Dr. Shaikh is internationally recognized for pioneering work in movement disorders, eye movements, and neuromodulation, with about 200 peer-reviewed publications, multiple edited volumes, and leadership in NIH- and VA-funded research programs exceeding $5 million. His numerous honors include the Grass Foundation–American Neurological Association Award in Neuroscience, the American Academy of Neurology Career Award, and the Jon Stolk Award for Excellence in Movement Disorders. He is Editor-in-Chief of Dystonia and serves on editorial and scientific advisory panels worldwide, reflecting his sustained impact on advancing translational neuroscience and brain health innovation.
