Earl Martin Phalen is a man who believes that everyone can make a big impact. He is one of the nation's top educational leaders, recognized by TIME magazine, BET, CNN, MSNBC and the New York Times for his work in helping kids and adults succeed. Earl has transformed how we think about summer learning, has demonstrated that schools that are failing our children can be turned around, and has created a jobs program that aims to end poverty in the US. As the CEO of Great Jobs KC, Earl helps young adults and adults from gain skills to build meaningful careers and build better futures. Over the next 10 years, he hopes to help 1,000,000 people find good jobs and achieve financial independence.Earl is also the Founder & CEO of Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA), which is a network of schools across the country, serving over 10,000 students! He also started Summer Advantage USA, which helps thousands of children improve their reading and math skills over the summer.Earl's work has earned him many awards, including the President's Service Award from President Clinton. Earl received his Bachelor's degree from Yale and his law degree from Harvard University. Earl loves coaching his basketball team and one of his favorite things to do is spend time with his nieces and nephews.
