Those affected by the Nightborne Curse start to withdraw, becoming melancholic, lethargic, and sensitive to light-even the faint glow of lanterns. Eventually, they lose all humanity, transforming into Nightborn, shadowy wraiths that thrive on fear and misery. They retain fragmented memories of their former selves, but their minds are consumed by darkness, forcing them to become predatory beings. At first, the transformations seem random, but they are becoming increasingly frequent, and entire towns are now succumbing to the curse.
