When the heart is allowed to work its alchemy, we discover that we can transmute our pain into peace, our grief into joy, and our anger into serenity. "Alchemy of the Heart" shows that transformation happens differently from how we expect. Our tendency is to avoid experiences we think of as negative, to shy away from situations that may be painful, and to suppress our real feelings. The heart can only come to our aid if, instead of running from what we dislike, we become fully present with what we are experiencing. "Alchemy of the Heart" explains that when we accept the unacceptable instead of pushing it away, we discover that the flip side of psychological pain is personal growth -- and that our pain is simply our healing wanting to break through.
Autorenporträt
When South African-born Michael Brown began entering what he calls "present moment awareness," he discovered a heightened consciousness that runs parallel to conventional, mundane experience. In due course, he charted a methodical pathway into present moment awareness. This practical procedure, called The Presence Process, can be used by anyone, anywhere, to initiate an experience of presence. Now, in his second book, Alchemy of the Heart, Michael leads us on a journey into the feeling center of the heart, whose language is felt-perception. "Nothing is more important that the intent to feel life in all its fullness," Michael explains. "To become present with whatever circumstances are in our life is what separates those who evolve from those who drown self-destructively in unconscious drama." Michael Brown is the author of the three Namaste Publishing Inc. books: The Presence Process, Alchemy of the Heart and Cat Tales for Mariette. They make up a trinity of his exploration into techniques for emotional integration and growth. Michael lives in The Eastern Cape, South Africa.
