Alexis Has Anxiety is more than just a children's story-it's a lifeline for kids and families navigating the often-misunderstood world of childhood anxiety. Through the eyes of Alexis, a bright young girl who begins to notice her worries are bigger than most, readers are guided on a heartfelt journey of self-discovery. When Alexis meets with a child psychiatrist, she learns what anxiety really is, that she's not "broken," and that help is available. What sets this book apart is its holistic approach. Alexis Has Anxiety not only introduces kids and parents to medical treatment options like therapy and medication but also explores non-medical supports, including mindfulness, prayer, and soul care practices rooted in the traditions of Black and Brown communities. This book gives representation where it's needed most-affirming that mental health care is for everyone, especially children of color who may not always see themselves reflected in conversations about wellness. Perfect for parents, educators, therapists, and faith leaders, Alexis Has Anxiety is a relatable, hopeful, and empowering story that opens the door to conversations about mental health, resilience, and the importance of caring for the mind, body, and spirit. If you want to equip children with the language, tools, and courage to face anxiety while honoring culture and faith, this is the book you've been waiting for.
