Dr. Laverne Knight is a Native American who grew up on a small reserve (reservation) in Central Saskatchewan, Canada. As a small child, Dr. Knight recalls a local pastor laying his hands and praying over her in Jesus' name that she will one day fulfill her dream of becoming a scientist! Since being prayed over, she currently holds multiple degrees in the areas of public administration, public policy (criminal justice), philosophy, international relations, and education.
