The Faerie Market Mystery series continues: Sabine is the best pickpocket in New Orleans and the worst witch. That'll need to change after the Faerie Market erupts, releasing dark magic into the Big Easy. When her roommate disappears into the Beyond and a dead man turns up on the streetcar she just vacated, the handsome but skeptical Detective Thibodeaux starts asking questions that Sabine can't answer. As she grapples with her limited magic and decreasing circle of friends, Sabine is forced to seek help from the owner of the Sassy Witch shop, a feaux French witch with a murder of crows at her disposal. Detective Thibodeaux, still reeling from his introduction to magic in Book One, A Charmed Moon, swallows his pride and asks Sabine for help to catch the murderer. But can he trust this scrappy witch? And can Sabine learn to wield magic in time to save her roommate and prevent another murder? Or is she destined to fail her friends, again?
