Autorenporträt

D.C. Phillot (1860-1930) was a British army officer, who served in India and as a Consul in Persia. He was a scholar of Persian, Urdu, and Hindustani dialects, and also an enthusiast of falconry. He has published works such as The Adventures of Haji Baba of Ispahan; The Baz-nama-yi Nasiri: A Persian Treatise on Falconry; Annotated English Translation of Urdu roz-marra, or 'Every-day Urdu'; The Faras-na?ma-e Rangi?n or The Book of the Horse; Khazina-e Muhawarat or Urdu Idioms; Hindustani Manual, etc.
