James Simon's passion for coaching, mindfulness, and growth began in athletics, where he discovered the power of discipline, resilience, and teamwork. After transitioning into business and healthcare, James honed his unique ability to blend Kaizen with mindfulness, helping individuals and teams unlock their potential. His journey into continuous improvement began in 2004 while working in manufacturing, where he embraced the principles of efficiency, growth, and transformation and was recruited into healthcare in 2010. In 2015, his focus shifted to mindfulness and meditation, and he has since deepened his practice through retreats and visiting monasteries in Japan.A pivotal moment in his journey came in 2020 when he founded Headwaters to Change, a platform dedicated to supporting people on their path to self-mastery through the integration of Kaizen philosophy and mindfulness practices.James's work has spanned continents and industries. At the University of Alberta Hospital, he leads transformative change that fosters innovation and growth. He has also been privileged to contribute to non-profit efforts in Rwanda and Kenya, broadening his perspective on global impact. A key influence in his journey has been George Mumford, a renowned performance coach whose work with NBA legends like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant brought mindfulness into the heart of high-performance sports. Drawing from his teachings, James integrates mindfulness and inner mastery into his coaching approach, empowering individuals to break through limitations and reach new heights.James also draws from mentorship with Toyota leaders, where he refined his ability to apply continuous improvement principles to all aspects of life. He combines these teachings with the insights he's gained from studying with Mumford and other thought leaders to create a unique and powerful coaching experience.Whether working with senior executives, athletes, or healthcare teams, James is known for creating a space where transformation feels possible-and often inevitable. His ability to guide others toward clarity, focus, and meaningful change has earned him a reputation as a trusted partner in helping people achieve extraordinary results.James lives in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, where he is relentlessly driven by his purpose: guiding individuals and teams to surpass their own expectations and achieve transformative growth.
