This is a story about a litte Australian White Ibis called Elvis. An egg was found on the ground and put into an incubator. The story shares his hatching, how he got his name, his fame in social media and him growing up, learning to preen, find his own food and build muscle strength for flying. His rehabilitation was all in the hands of a wildlife carer. It then talks about his eventual release at a wetland with other birds of his own kind, and how important it is to keep our wetlands clean for all that live in this environment.

Autorenporträt
Fiona is a wildlife rehabilitator in Western Australia with more than 30 years' experience, specialising in seabirds and waterbirds since 2016. She has had the privilege to care for many different species who otherwise may not have had a chance at life. Fiona is using her knowledge of wildlife, rehabilitation and the environment, through her children's storybooks, to engage and share her passion with those little people who will be the wildlife warriors of the future. Fiona is a wife, mum and grandma who also has a clowder of cats (mostly hand-raised waifs brought to her doorstep). She has had a 20-year career as a midwife/neonatal nurse, followed by 13 years as a geologist in the oil & gas industry before retiring from paid work in 2016. Her days are filled with caring for those special birds that end up in her care, with the hope of giving them a second chance at life.
