John Crawford holds a master's degree in public administration, as well as, a bachelor's degree in political science from Texas State University. He is a veteran who served in the United States Navy as an Air Traffic Controller for six years. During those six years, John served in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
