In "An Ode To The Ocean In My Heart," I lay bare my soul, sharing the innermost depths of my being with raw honesty. It's about living with mental health struggles, navigating the maze of trauma as a young woman in a world that can feel merciless. I delve into the darkest corners of my mind, revealing the turmoil of my thoughts and emotions. Through my words, I offer a glimpse into the challenges I face and the battles I fight every day. But amidst the darkness, there's a glimmer of hope-a hope that by sharing my story, I can reach out to others who may be struggling too. I want my words to be a source of comfort and understanding, a reminder that no one is alone in their journey. "An Ode To The Ocean In My Heart" is more than just a memoir; it's a testament to resilience, a testament to the strength we all possess to overcome the toughest of obstacles. And I hope that by sharing my story, I can help others find their own path to healing and self-acceptance.
Jordan Asbroek comes from South Australia's beautiful wine region, Barossa Valley. At twentyseven, she works in marketing at a winery and has a deep passion for writing. Writing has always been Jordan's escape. Diagnosed with depression and anxiety at sixteen, and later with bipolar disorder, she found comfort in her words. Throughout her twenties, writing was her therapy, even though she kept it mostly private.Over the past twelve months, Jordan experienced significant losses: a seven-year relationship, her home, and the job she loved. Forced to start over, she turned to writing as her salvation. Her words became an ode to the ocean within her-vast, tumultuous, but beautiful. Now, Jordan shares her story in her book. It's not about awards or degrees but about the raw, real experience of being a young woman in a challenging world. She hopes her words will offer comfort to others, showing they are not alone in this unpredictable journey called life.
