This study deals with the evaluation of performance data from the TTM - Test Traffic Measurement project in the New Projects Group at the RIPE NCC. Here we introduce new methods and tools to help draw conclusions on the performance when comparing IP4 and IPv6 delay data. The concepts proposed in this thesis will become the basis of new TTM services, providing quality assurance tools for backbone networks. An analysis of the current TTM network was carried out using these new approaches. Finally, we present an account on the development of a tunnel detection tool. The tool detects IPv4 tunnels in IPv6 networks and has already been introduced as a new RIPE NCC service.
