Autorenporträt
Lucy Maud Montgomery (November 30, 1874 - April 24, 1942), who wrote under the name of L. M. Montgomery, was a Canadian author best known for Anne of Green Gables, which was an immediate success upon publication in 1908. The book made Montgomery famous in her lifetime and gave her an international following. It is the most translated work of Canadian literature. Montgomery published 20 novels, most of which are set on Prince Edward Island, helping to make Canada's smallest province a literary landmark and popular tourist site.
