Produktbeschreibung
A young lawyer, struggling to move on after a tragic accident, the beautiful woman with an extraordinary secret he meets in the dairy aisle, and his client, the scientist who has stumbled upon a world changing technology. All have roles to play as the world sleepwalks into nuclear war. Set in the American Midwest, world capitals, and across time and space, Anomalous Events in an American Suburb is a science fiction, romantic fantasy, action thriller that is part history, part mythology, but always revolves around real events. The novel touches upon actual government anti-gravity research, metaphysical romance, the ancient Greek Eleusinian Mysteries, Harry Truman, Cole Younger's lost treasure, Carl Jung, and nuclear disarmament. Kansas City attorney Essie Kemp runs into a beautiful woman in a grocery store's dairy aisle, who reads his every thought. The same day, while hiking to the top of a hill in a rural area, he has a close encounter with a low flying, lenticular, silver disk. Later, he encounters the same woman, Zoe Eliades, at a social event. They quickly grow obsessed with each other. Essie's client, Ray Langstaff, is a government scientist who runs a secret program at the Department of Energy's Kansas City National Security Campus, a massive operation with over seven thousand employees. He reveals to Essie what they've discovered, as well as what they know about Zoe's family.
Autorenporträt
The author practices law in the Kansas City area. Prior to law school, he was a Naval officer and the government sent him on several all-expense paid cruises to far away seas and strange lands. In the course of his legal practice, he has represented many extraordinary, and occasionally challenging, individuals. In addition to this tale, he's authored a number of published legal articles and Supreme Court briefs. They are all nonfiction, though some may argue otherwise.
