This study involves determining the normative values of Antimullerian hormone in a small cohort of Indian women and further correlating the levels with the menopausal symptoms. There have been many studies on Antimullerian hormone as a marker for fertility, but this work is first of its kind which compares the hormone with the menopausal symptoms. Low levels of AMH in young females indicates the future difficulty in conception and is a predictor for subfertility. Women with low levels in the perimenopausal age group can make lifestyle modifications to minimize the menopausal effects.
