On August 5, 6 and 7, 2024, soldiers from the regular army of South Sudan, estimated at around 150 men, infiltrated the KAMERU 2 shopping center in the KALIKO OMI chiefdom in the Aru territory. They fired several shots in the air, creating widespread panic in the area. During these three days, these soldiers of the regular army of South Sudan arrested at least 11 people, including 2 Congolese and 7 refugees from South Sudan. The arrested Congolese and South Sudanese refugees were released a few hours later.
