Atavism is a supernatural psychological thriller that follows Dr. Norma Hurston, a therapist drawn into the mysterious case of Nicole Summers-a woman from New Orleans accused of killing a police officer. As Norma unravels Nicole's past, she begins to experience haunting visions of powerful women from the 1800s. These ancestral memories awaken an Atavism-a reappearance of traits from distant generations-forcing Norma to confront a buried legacy of pain, power, and truth before the past consumes the present.

Autorenporträt
Born and raised in Panama City, Florida, Pernell McNear grew up in the American South, where life offered both beauty and hardship. Coming from a lower socio-economic background, he witnessed firsthand how society often tries to define people before they have the chance to define themselves. Writing became his tool for resistance, healing, and empowerment-a way to speak truth and uplift those who are often unheard. His work challenges imposed roles and reclaims the power of storytelling to create new, liberating narratives.
