Crystal Ellison is a Senior Litigation Attorney at Allstate Insurance, where she manages personal injury andfraud cases. She also serves as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate General (JAG) with the rank of Captain inthe United States Air Force, Reserves. With over a decade of legal experience, her background includeshandling child abuse and neglect cases and representing criminal defendants in both misdemeanor andfelony matters.Ms. Ellison serves on the Executive Board of the Jackson County Bar Association, the Kansas CityMetropolitan Bar Foundation, and volunteers for Lead to Read KC. She is also an active volunteer withPrep-KC where she serves on the Volunteer Engagement Committee. She takes pride in her commitment toPrep-KC, where she has been a dedicated speaker, reader, and long-time volunteer. This organizationempowers students in Kansas City's urban school district, inspiring them to build confidence and explorecareer paths, including in law. Ms. Ellison have spoken to thousands of K-12th grade students across themetropolitan area and have served as a mentor to high school, pre-law and law school students, advancingsome to regional and national written and oratory competitions. Ms. Ellison began her writing journey in 2020 as a Writer in Residence for Ms. JD, where she shared insightsand experiences with a wide audience. That same year, she embarked on writing her first children's book.With a strong foundation in public speaking, mentorship, and volunteer work, particularly with gradeschool students, Ms. Ellison is passionate about using her voice and writing to inspire and uplift youngminds. Her extensive experience allows her to connect with students in meaningful ways, fosteringconfidence and encouraging them to envision bright futures.
