As a young adult, Heather Vina saw firsthand the power a visit from a therapy dog can have when her father was in the hospital and in pain. On that day, Heather decided that she would have a Golden Retriever and help people like the therapy team helped her dad.Heather and Augie now visit with young and old alike. They visit people with and without disabilities to help them cope with the stresses of everyday life as well as encourage young readers to improve their skills and confidence.
