Kasalukuyan siyang Full Professor sa Kolehiyo ng Arte atLiteratura at Fellow ng Likhaan: Institute of Creative Writing. Mayroon siyang mahigit 80 nalathalang aklat pambata, aklat ng mga tula, sanaysay, pananaliksik, pagsasalin, at antolohiya. Naging editor siya ng mga pampanitikang journal tulad ng Lagda, Likhaan, at Daluyan. Nailathala ang kaniyang mga malikhaing akda sa Diliman Review, Humanities Diliman, Review of Women's Studies, Tomas, at Philippine Humanities Review. Nagwagi siya ng mga pangunahing parangal pampanitikan sa Pilipinas: Makata ng Taon 2000 ng Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino; dalawang Grand Prize sa PBBY-Salanga Writer's Prize; Pilar Perez Medallion for Young Adult Literature; National Book Award; National Children's Book Award; National Commission for Culture and the Arts Writers Prize para sa sanaysay; dalawang Catholic Mass Media Award; at Romeo Forbes Story Writing Competition. Noong 2009, nailuklok siya sa Hall of Fame ng Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature sa pagwawagi ng limang Unang Gantimpala. Naging exchange professor siya noong 2009 sa University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis sa bisa ng Erasmus Mundus at naging Research Fellow naman sa International Youth Library noong 2016 sa Munich, Germany. Kasalukuyan siyang kolumnista sa Liwayway, ang pinakamatandang magasing pampanitikan sa Pilipinas.Eugene Y. Evasco is a writer, editor, translator, and scholar of children's books. He currently teaches Creative Writing in the College of Arts and Literature at the University of the Philippines in Diliman. He is the author of award-winning books Ang Nag-iisa at Natatanging si Onyok, Anina ng mga Alon, Ang Sampung Bukitkit, Mga Pilat sa Pilak: Mga Personal na Sanaysay, at May Tiyanak sa Loob ng Aking Bag: Mga Tulang Pambata. He translated E.B. White's Charlotte's Web to Filipino. In 2014, he won at the UP Gawad ng Natatanging Publikasyon sa Filipino (Creative Writing Category). In 2009, he was inducted into the Carlos Palanca Memorial Award for Literature Hall of Fame and he is currently a Fellow of the Likhaan: UP Institute of Creative Writing. In 2016, he became a Research Fellow at the International Youth Library in Munich, Germany.
