Isis Jefferson is an Artist and Illustrator of Children's books featuring black main characters. She also makes early education resources for parents while hosting a platform that increases the visibility of other black Indie authors by making it easy to find the best black children's books. Isis is also professionally known as Ismani Sun, a name created by combining her full name Isis Imani Jefferson. She profoundly believes in investing in childhood development, literacy, and education. She works hard to achieve her vision of equity, inclusion, and diversity in the classroom.Ismani has garnered many acclaimed awards as an artist, Such as the IGART Destination of Art Award, Where hundreds viewed her art globally across Europe. Currently, She is driven by her role as a new mother. She strives to create resources for parents like herself that build the best foundation by offering tools that ensure that children do not fall prey to an unfair educational system. Her next professional goal is launching her Business, "Best Black Children's Books," whose mission is to ensure that every black child can identify with their learning materials and connect with the black characters in the books. We hope children learn a love of reading while connecting to the written words and foster a passion for learning.Ismani is certified in social-emotional learning for elementary children and is a traditionally trained artist with skills in digital mediums. Somewhat of a Prodigy with over 20 years of artist experience. She chose illustration as her preferred medium as she enjoys depicting stories with her work. When she is not working hard on her passion for art and storytelling, Isis and her husband can be found playing and singing songs to the youngest addition to their family.
