Elizabeth, Princess Bibesco was an English socialite, actress, and writer, known for her works between 1921 and 1940. Born on February 26, 1897, in London, she was the daughter of H. H. Asquith, the British Prime Minister, and Margot Asquith, a renowned writer. Elizabeth s life was deeply intertwined with both British politics and European aristocracy, as she married Antoine Bibesco, a Romanian prince and diplomat. Her personal connections and her social status influenced her writing and public persona. She had two children, Priscilla Bibesco and Priscilla Hodgson, and was also the sister of Violet Bonham Carter and filmmaker Anthony Asquith. Throughout her life, Elizabeth navigated the roles of both a public figure and an insightful writer, often reflecting on the complexities of society and relationships. Elizabeth, Princess Bibesco passed away on April 7, 1945, at the age of 48 in Bucharest, Romania. Her works continue to be recognized for their sharp social observations and unique perspectives on the human condition.
