"An accessible international whodunit with plenty of heart.... Readers will appreciate the straightforward prose and commuter-friendly pace as the narrative moves through varied landscapes, from rain-soaked Canadian streets to sun-drenched casino floors in Macau." - Kirkus Reviews Vancouver in the year 2000 has become a drug capital and money-laundering centre. The suspicious death of a banker leads his friend Bolton to help in an RCMP investigation, where he's exposed to drug cartels and money launderers who clean their dirty money through BC casinos. When ex-gangster Al Davis is pulled in to help, he suspects one of the cops on the team is bent. Davis takes things into his own hands, with dire consequences.
David Bowra was a senior partner of a big 4 accounting firm until he set up his own company in 2004. He's spent his career handling troubled businesses throughout Western Canada and the United States, as well as acting as interim CEO. He's worked on airlines, residential real estate construction, wineries, hothouse operations, pulp mills and even a book publisher. While he found running a small family-run business just as challenging as a company with over 500 employees, nothing was as challenging as writing a novel. He moved from London, England, in the late seventies and lives in West Vancouver.
