Bud's writing career began shortly after he retired from the Navy in 1975. During his military tenure as a Navy Hospital Corpsman, he traveled the world practicing his medical skills as a Physician's Assistant aboard ship. While on shore duty at various Naval Hospitals, he was trained as a Radiographer (X-Ray Technologist) and achieved sufficient rank to serve as a department manager.After retiring from the Navy, Bud worked in civilian hospitals in Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio, where he served as a department director. While at Grandview Hospital in Dayton, he began writing a monthly column for Advance Magazine based in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. His articles were often based on topics he had presented at annual meetings and conventions.Bud was later recruited by Sinclair Community College, where he served as an instructor for twenty-two years. During this time, he was also invited by McGraw Hill Publishers to assist in editing and writing medical textbooks, including Basic Medical Terminology, which was used at Sinclair College.At Sinclair, Bud taught courses in Basic Medical Terminology, Advanced Medical Terminology, and Introduction to Computers.
