Healthcare-associated neonatal sepsis due to enterobacteria has increased worldwide. A prospective longitudinal descriptive observational prospective research was carried out with the aim of describing the behavior of enterobacteria in isolates from samples of neonates with IASS admitted to the Neonatology Service of the Provincial Hospital of Sancti Spíritus, from January 2023 to March 2024. We worked with 15 samples that met the selection criteria. Species identification was carried out according to the norms of the specialty, the Kirby-Baüer method was used following the guidelines of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute and the National Reference Laboratory for the Surveillance of Antimicrobial Resistance in Pathogens causing HCAI. Most of the neonatal sepsis due to enterobacteria was late in preterm infants with low birth weight who had previously used antibiotics, the predominant germ being Escherichia coli and the greatest sensitivity was to Meropenem with greater resistance to cephalosporins and most of them were BLEE producers.
