Muriel Holfelder grew up in Blackstone, Massachusetts, and has been a musician for most of her life. After 38 years as a music teacher, including two years on the Navajo reservation in New Mexico, she retired from teaching and continues to work as a church musician. Belagana! is her first novel. When not reading or writing, Muriel enjoys nature walks with her family, baking, and creating songs and jokes. She lives in Cumberland, Rhode Island, with her husband, Bob, her daughter, Katie, and their cat, Maggie. Muriel's experiences enrich her storytelling, making it relatable for young readers.
