But after arriving on the distant east coast of North Carolina, things take an ominous turn for Bess and her friends. A strange wave washes schools of hungry sharks close to shore, right at the feet of unsuspecting swimmers. When a fishing boat reports seeing a sea monster, most people can't believe it, until a badly damaged charter yacht is discovered by Bess just offshore from her beach side vacation home. It is adrift on the ocean, and it seems to have a huge bite taken out of it.Things go from bad to worse as Bess, her friends, and her family discover a sinister plot by enemy agents, along with a dangerous and potentially deadly weapon that seems like it cannot be stopped.
