Autorenporträt
Carlos Penela (born in Vigo, Galicia, Spain, in 1975) is an award-winning Galician poet. His earlier books of poems include "As linhagens do frio" (1998), "Acaso o inverno" (2001), "O que ardeu nos espellos" (2004), "Sombras rosas sombras" (2008), "Arte de fuga" (2014), "Ese tépedo vento que pasa sobre o mundo" (2019) and "Trono e caléndula" (2023). His work has been published in major Galician literary magazines and newspapers, and his poems have been translated into German and Spanish. His translations from Portuguese and German include Walter Benjamin's "Moscow Diary". He has lived in Vienna since 2004.
