In the space between what you can see, and what you believe. When Uncle Roscoe falls to his death while cleaning the gutters it's clearly an accident. But Aunt Alice's story doesn't quite hold up and she's behaving oddly. The police are looking grim and Hettie is afraid. Is her favourite aunt protecting someone, or does she have a guilty conscience? When Hettie gathers the family to investigate their efforts bring the ire of Sergeant Higgins down on their heads, accusing them of a cover up. Now Ceefer's gone missing. Something shady is going on and Hettie needs to figure out what it is, fast, because that detective is closing in and a trillion new croquet courts won't compensate for visiting Aunt Alice behind bars.
Rennae Todd is the pen name of retired historian Irene Sauman. While Irene writes historical cozy mysteries, Rennae writes cozies in a more modern setting. But history has a way of creeping into Rennae's stories sometimes too. Which shouldn't be surprising. After all, everyone has a history, haven't they? Irene's history (and therefore Rennae's too) includes growing up on a vineyard and orange orchard by the Murray River in New South Wales. Now living in Western Australia, Irene has three children and four grandchildren, and a sister who beta reads her books for plot holes and to see how quickly she can solve the mystery. When not writing (or reading), Irene watches tennis, plays croquet, and has a reasonably green thumb, which means very little dies in her garden, unlike in her cozy mysteries.Irene and Rennae's books are available in digital and print at all good retailers. They share a website where you can learn more about their books. https://irenesaumanauthor.com
