Uche Nnyagu é filho de Kenneth e Caroline Nnyagu em Umuawulu-Awka, Estado de Anambra, Nigéria. Estudou inglês na Universidade Nnamdi Azikiwe de Awka e é titular de um bacharelato, um mestrado e um doutoramento da mesma universidade. Obteve ainda um PGD(E) da Universidade Nacional Aberta da Nigéria. Lecciona no Departamento de Inglês da NOCEN. Publicou extensivamente.
