Neha Maurya hat ihr Studium der Anglistik mit Auszeichnung abgeschlossen und promovierte in Linguistik an der Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, UP, Indien. Im Dezember 2011 wurde sie mit einem Junior Research Fellowship und im Dezember 2013 mit einem Senior Research Research Fellowship ausgezeichnet. Dieses Buch basiert auf ihrer Master-Dissertation.
