Dr. Sr. Beena Jose is lid van de Congregatie van de Moeder van de Karmel. Zij promoveerde in de scheikunde en was een internationale research fellow aan de JST van de Santa Clara Universiteit, USA. Ze is ook de ontvanger van de internationale TORCH-beurs, Universiteit van Oxford, UK. Momenteel is ze de directeur van Vimala College, Kerala, India.
