Autorenporträt
Gail Newman has worked as an arts administrator, museum educator at the Contemporary Jewish Museum, CalPoets poet teacher and San Francisco Coordinator. She was co-founder of Room, A women's Literary Journal. A child of Polish Holocaust survivors, Gail was born in a Displaced Persons' camp in Germany and immigrated to the United States with her family. Her work has been published in journals including Prairie Schooner, Nimrod International, The Atlanta Review, and Calyx. Blood Memory won the California Authors and Publishers Gold Award for Poetry and the 2021 Best Book Awards in the Poetry; Religious category.
