Bruce Elder currently has been a senior journalist with the Sydney Morning Herald specialising in popular culture, mass media and travel. As a mass media critic he won the Geraldine Pascall Prize for Critical Writing in 1996. He has appeared regularly on ABC's NightLife program which is broadcast around Australia. He has also written over fifty books, is the writer and editor of the two million word-long Internet travel guide Walkabout (www.walkabout.com.au) and is also the editor of Trivial Pursuit in Australia. He is on the board of Lifeline South Coast and, for the past six years, has been an Australia Day Ambassador.
