Adolescence is when swift physical growth, social evolution and solid sense of identity occur. A major factor influencing overall self-esteem is how adolescents perceive their body image. This book aims to explore the relationship between body image and self-esteem. The study focuses on school-going girls aged 13-19 examining their perception of body image and self-esteem. The issue at hand is the negative impact of social and cultural influence on body image and self-esteem during this vital period. Conducting the study deepened the understanding of the unique challenges adolescents face regarding body image and self-esteem, particularly the interplay between social influences such as peers, parents, and mental health issues like anxiety, depression etc. The need for advocacy in integrating mental health and body image education into school curricula, and pushing policies that address adolescents mental health issue and body image concerns are presented through this study.
