This study arose from the moment I realized in my professional work that women were taking too much care of their bodies. In this way, I tried to investigate the real reasons that led these women to opt for aesthetic surgical procedures associated with physical activity. I was able to ascertain various factors, such as sociocultural aspects, concern for their partner, among other reasons. In any case, technology has advanced in order to improve people's living conditions. However, the extent to which this can be harmful and put the individual's integrity at risk must be taken into account. It is up to the plastic surgeon and the other members of a health team to check the mental conditions of plastic surgery patients, since the prevalence of image disorders in this population is high.
