A courageous and moving memory about abandonment, loss, change, and eventual forgiveness. It provides a cogent and affecting account of transcending developmental physical neglect in infancy, followed by subsequent physical, emotional, and psychological trauma during childhood. Author Dawn Nelson painstakingly traces significant ways in which this experiences impacted and influenced her decision making, attitudes, and actions in adulthood before revealing to readers how acceptance, her evolving consciousness, new insights, and eventual forgiveness provided a path to healing. BONE BY BONE offers support, hope and compassion to the multitudes of beings in this world who have suffered abusive neglect and trauma in any form.
Dawn Nelson is the author of five books and co-producer of several award-winning videos. Completing a two-year graduate school certification course in "Awakening to Life and Death" in 1989-90 inspired Dawn to create the COMPASSIONATE TOUCH for Those in Later Life StagesTM program, which led to world-wide recognition as a speaker, author and touch educator. Dawn also has extensive experience in leading and helping facilitate three-day and longer residential meditation retreats as well as helping train others to give them. With the exception of an eight-month sojourn in Switzerland, Dawn and her husband have resided in the California Bay Area for close to fifty years.
